Bob Klemen – Bandleader, Accordion, Percussion and Vocals

Bob has played the accordion for nearly his entire life, and has mastered a variety of styles.  His career includes notable collaborations with some of the masters of Polka including Frankie Yankovic, Jimmy Sthur (multiple Grammy Award winner), Myron Floren and many more.  Additionally, Bob is often called to Emcee an event and direct the presentation on stage including introductions of special guests, presentations of awards and Honors, and helping to keep events on schedule.

Bobby Floreancig - Button Accordion, Piano Accordion

Bobby has been playing accordion since he was 7 years old. Being self taught Bobby has learned a wide variety of instruments. He now plays the one and two row Cajun accordions, the three and four row diatonic Italian and German tuned accordions, banjo and most recently the scrub board. Bobby’s unique style is unequaled. Being an original member of the band (in our early days we were called “The Music Makers Orchestra”) Bobby brings a tremendous amount of fun to every engagement we play. Some of the noted musicians that Bobby has been on stage with are: Frankie Yankovic, Bob Dozak, Frank Novak, Roman Possedi. While living in Florida Bobby played in the Nostalis Plus band and also plays with the Old Timers Polka Band here in Indianapolis.

Dan Dyar – Drums, Vibes, Percussion

For the past ten years, Dan Dyar has been one of the most in-demand all-round percussionists in and around the Indianapolis area. Dan has played percussion for and with Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra, Ballet Internationale, Kokomo Park Band, Indianapolis Brass Choir, and the Lafayette Symphony Orchestra.  Dan Dyar played 200+ shows yearly with the Boggstown Cabaret as Pianist and Musical Director until 2005.  His band, Dorsey, has appeared twice in recent issues of Intakes’ Top Ten Live Acts. Dan is a teacher for the Music School at Guerin High School and continues to teach privately in the Avon, Wanamaker, Fishers, and Carmel areas, while performing regularly with top local and regional acts including Polkamotion.

Jeff Strayer - Bass, Sound, Back-up Vocals

Jeff Strayer is a Jazz musician turned Polkateer. Jeff brings a solid bass line and a tremendous amount of knowledge about sound systems. Jeff has played with many Rock and Jazz bands for nearly 30 years.

Fred Riffel  –  Rhythm/Lead Guitar and Vocals 

Fred has played and recorded professionally for more than 25 years with well known regional acts including Bobby Helms, LA Turnaround, and Get Vertical.  He was a founding member of the original Crossroads band and has been instrumental in updating the sound of the band.

Denise Riffel  –  Percussion and Vocals

Denise began singing with church and gospel groups more than 15 years Ago.  She made the transition to Rock, Pop, Country, Waltz and Polka Performances several years ago, when she joined her husband in Get Vertical, and  the original Crossroads band.  She and Fred continue their involvement At the First Assemble of God, and on stage with Bob Klemen and Crossroads.
